Buddhist Taiko In October 2006, the Pacific Buddhist Academy hosted a workshop with Shin Buddhist minister, Rev. Mas Kodani. Among other accomplishments, Rev. Kodani is the co-founder of Kinnara Taiko, the first Japanese American taiko group in the U.S. PBA Celebrates First Peace Day Pacific Buddhist Academy students celebrated the first September 21, 2007 Peace Day by participating in Peace Day events across the state Shin Buddhist Project 2007 Conference. In fall 2007, Pacific Buddhist Academy partnered with the Shin Buddhist Project to present Gathering 2007, an educational conference. The focus of the conference was to teach participants to enhance their personal relationships by using three basic Buddhist values: suspending judgment, taking self-responsibility, and recognizing connections between all people and circumstances. Interfaith Poetry PBA students read original poetry compositions at the 46 th Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Eve Service, a Thanksgiving celebration sponsored by religious communities in the Nu‘ uanu Valley area.
