Pacific Buddhist Academy is a nonprofit charitable organization that has been granted tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue code.

Although it is academically affiliated with Hongwanji Mission School and shares some campus facilities, the Academy is a separate organization administratively and fiscally.
