Thursday, September 28, 2017

“...That’s it! That’s the word!”

The entire crowd starts cheering.

“Alright, thanks a lot! Now folks, let’s continue…”

The grand opening was a great ceremony. There were very good performances and very interesting speeches.

“… we will open the school…”

A very honorable man comes up and takes down the rope. The crowd begins to applaud.

“So, ladies and gentlemen, that is it for the opening… now we invite you inside the new school building…”

You start making your way towards the entrance. However, you notice a paper by the building. You pick it up and have a look…

Hint 1:

Follow the rules.

Hint 2:

The two grids change in a way… have you considered a shift?

Hint 3:

Each row changes by a rule. Find the rule (hint 4: look at the letters filled in), and follow it!

This time it was a simpler puzzle. You just needed to do research to find the order of the letters.

J, J, A, S, O, N, D -- months of the year (June, July, August, September, October, November, December)

J, O, P, Q, R, S, U -- curvy letters of the alphabet

D, L, R, L, R, B, A -- the Konami code (Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A)

T, N, H. M, Y, R, W -- Japanese gojuon order of kana (Ta, Na, Ha, Ma, Ya, Ra, Wa)

L, M, N, O, P, Q, R -- letters of the alphabet

R, O, Y, G, B, I, V -- colors of the rainbow (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet)

C, D, E, F, G, A, B -- C major scale

Reading the letters from bottom to top, we get the solution:

Forward. As in, with this new school building, we are moving forward. I thought this word was a fitting answer to this puzzle.
