The Place of Peace

Members of Otake's advisory gather after their Saturday beach clean-up.

Hawai‘i is a unique place in the world, as is evident in the culture, environment, and history of the islands.

At PBA, curriculum is designed to emphasize the importance and relevance of Hawai‘i's past, present and future through projects of place-based inquiry that reconnect students to the land, environment, and history of Hawai‘i. One outcome the school seeks is for students to act in ways that are socially responsible, where students become citizens who value the sustainability of the planet and the opportunity for all people to live with human dignity.
