Thank you for interest in Pacific Buddhist Academy. While there are many pathways to a secondary education, in exploring PBA you explore the path of a high school providing college preparatory academics and the ethical focus of an emphasis on peace practice. PBA’s nurturing and inclusive environment allows students to focus on their education and the pursuit of fulfillment. At PBA, we believe strong relationships are the key to personal happiness and academic success. Our admission process does everything possible to determine that our program is the best possible fit for each student.
Admissions decisions are based on the individual applying. We do not have a cookie cutter view of the kind of individuals we seek, and we realize that grades alone do not always reflect a student’s capacity to succeed.
In our experience, the single most important criteria for success at PBA are the desire to attend the school and a commitment to peace. We seek a diverse student community to ensure all students have ample practice in negotiating differences of belief, ability and tradition.
We base admissions decisions on:
- The student interview and parent/guardian interview with the Head of School and Director of Admissions;
- The student campus visit;
- Transcripts and report cards;
- Teacher recommendations;
- Writing samples from the application.
The admissions team at PBA is here to ease the application process. Please explore our website to learn more about PBA’s unique and invigorating academics.
