Donations to the Annual Fund allow Pacific Buddhist Academy to address present and immediate needs and make up the difference between tuition and the actual costs of educating our students. Priority expenditures include tuition assistance to families with demonstrated financial need, curriculum and educational resources, technology upgrades, student-centered activities such as field trips and athletics, and continuing professional development for faculty and staff. Mahalo for creating more opportunities for young leaders to thrive.

Your gift makes a difference!

In 2022, Riho Umitani qualified for the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky for her informative speech titled, "Episode 18: the True Crime Dilemma." Your gift supported travel expenses for Riho, her father Rev. Toshiyuki Umitani, and coach Mr. Josh. They completed 14 hours of travel, with stops at HNL, LAX, DTT and SDF. Riho looks forward to 2023's summer tournament in Phoenix, Arizona, which she also qualified for.

“Through this wonderful experience, I had the chance to observe and learn from each of my competitors about what makes a good speech and debater. Thank you so much to all the supporters who helped in donating and making this trip possible. It was thanks to your help that I was able to experience this incredible opportunity.”

Designating a monthly sustaining donation is an easy and automatic way to support PBA that works for your schedule. It provides a steady source of income that helps the school budget for long-term expenses.

MAKE A SUSTAINING DONATION

Once you have submitted your payment information, PBA will automatically deduct the donation amount from your credit card monthly. Sustaining donations may also be sent through postal mail.

donor-advised funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) helps you increase your contribution potential over time by investing and growing your assets. A DAF is an account established for giving that allows donors to receive an immediate tax deduction. You can make single or recurring grants to qualifying charitable organizations like PBA as soon as the fund is established, or let your assets grow and donate when you’re ready. To open a DAF, select a sponsoring organization such as Fidelity, Charles Schwab, or Hawai`i Community Foundation.

ANNUAL PLEDGE

Pledge to give a sum of money through smaller annual payments over a span of designated years. The donor can pay the pledge by check, credit card, or automatic withdrawal. The first pledge payment can be processed now and then every year at this time until your designated total is donated. Please print and mail the completed Pledge Form to PBA.
